10th Class Exam Pattern takes a New Form

The Telangana Education Department has made significant changes in the 10th class exam pattern for the students who appear for the examination held by the Board of Secondary Education. On hearing it, arguments and counter arguments began to pour in from all quarters of the society. Every concerned person came up with a different opinion, some referred to it as a form of uniformity while others say that it ceases the interference of the school authorities. What is it all about? Let’s get into the details of the Telangana 10th class exam.

Evaluation of the Students Performance :

When a student climbs up the ladder, from elementary school to primary school to high school the educational performance is evaluated throughout the year. Tests are conducted regularly and their performance is evaluated on the average of the accumulated tests. Since it is for 20 marks the written final examination is for 80 marks.

Internal Assessment Marked-up Differently

Till date, the Telangana Education System continues the same pattern even for the board exams as mentioned above. Now, experts have observed that it can lead to disharmony in the evaluation of the 20 marks because the evaluators define different parameters in marking up the students internal assessment across the Schools. Therefore, the Telangana educational board has decided to award marks solely based on 100 marks and scraps the process of 80 marks per subject. That means, the student's assessment will depend on the performance of the written examinations.

Class Tenth Pattern Likely to Change in 2025-2026

The Education Ministry gave this update about the increment in the marks per subject, thus bringing a change in the Class Tenth Pattern. It is most likely to get implemented from the upcoming academic year, 2025-2026 onwards. Students and parents have to keep their fingers crossed on the new updates on the tenth class syllabus and examination schedules that are yet to be released.

Similar Issues on other Board Examination Pattern Resurfaces

An issue is up in the media circles that reminds of the Apex Court Judgement. It is about the refusal of quashing the High Court order passed in September 2019 by the Apex Court. In fact, the High Court order granted permission to exempt writing Tamil language paper in the Class 10 board examination. Similarly, even if a group of persons file a petition in Court against the increment in the written examination marks per subject from 80 to 100, it is unlikely to be approved.

Telangana Tenth Class Exam ; A Debatable Issue

However, it is high time for the parents, educators, and students to place their opinions across the spectrum of society. It is to either  comply with the change in the Telangana Tenth Class Exam pattern or the continuance of the old system of written examination. Be mindful, a change in the tenth class exam pattern in Telangana can create an uniformity in the written examination and it is certain.
