Field visits are a regular part of the Resonance school curriculum, running alongside regular academics & integrated, career-oriented curriculum. This field visit activity has gained importance because of the varied advantages it provides to participating resonites. In the lines below, Resonance Schools took the initiative to build a field-visit culture on campus, and below is the practical exposure gained through the one-day Kisan: Experience Life of a Farmer.

One-day Kisan: Experiential Learning

1. Resonites of Resonance Patancheru campus spent a day out with the farmer community on farmland located in Patancheru, Hyderabad. 

2. Participants had a thrilling experience; everyone was allowed onto the farmland and given practical exposure to the various activities a farmer does throughout the day. 

3. Resonites arranged themselves in a matrix, and the faculty had them do warm-up exercises before they entered the farms. 

4. During their experimental learning on the farmland, they highlighted different activities, from pooling water into the fields using mechanically operated equipment to ploughing and sowing seeds in the wet soil. 

5. Resonites were shown how cow dung was prepared, and vermicompost was manufactured. 

6. A touch-and-feel experience was provided by allowing the resonites to be involved in the process of vermicompost.

What did Resonites learn at the One-day Kisan Experience? 

1. The daily tough life of a farmer in the farmland. 

2. The various tools and equipment used for tilling soil and the water management system for watering farms. 

3. Managing waste from farming activities by transforming it into vermicompost, a natural compost and soil manure. 

4. Vermicompost is an end product that can generate a reasonable amount of income for farmers. It is an alternative way to generate revenue.

What changes does a field visit create on Resonites? 

1. In field visits, resonites gain qualities that prepare them for a better future. Each individual has a basic instinct, differs from others, and every resonite understands the ongoing field activity in their own way, opening a doorway to independent thinking. 

2. Every resonite is shaped by personal values and independent cultures; field assemblies also strengthen community bonds and encourage thinking beyond textbooks. 

3. Field assemblies build competitive thinking and coordinate learning initiatives. Working together to solve unknown tasks helps resonites develop teamwork and a grow-together attitude. 

4. Together, the organising committee that runs field trips delivers more engaging, interactive programs while building a constructive community orientation. Ultimately, field trips help resonites face real-world challenges beyond books and career-related examinations.
